BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said the Gasibu Monument in Bandung City will be used as a monument to the struggle of the COVID-19 heroes.

The plan is for the monument to be dedicated to the front guard in handling COVID-19, which has fallen and will be inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on the commemoration of Heroes' Day, November 10, 2021.

"It will be inaugurated on November 10, 2021 by the President. The letter will be sent, if there are no obstacles, the President will go to Bandung to appreciate the heroes of COVID-19 in Indonesia," said the Governor of West Java in a virtual press conference quoted by Antara, Friday, September 3 .

Kang Emil, as he is familiarly called, revealed that the request had been submitted to the Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno and had been approved as a monument to the struggle for the heroes of COVID-19.

"I have conveyed to Pak Pratikno and the central government that they agreed to become a monument to the struggle for the heroes of COVID-19," said Kang Emil.

The Gasibu Monument is located across the north from Gasibu Square. The building is in the form of two portals which is a symbol of toughness and growth.

"There are two portals, symbols of being tough and growing, and of course, pride when it becomes a national level," said Kang Emil.

The monument to the struggle of the COVID-19 heroes contains a message, never forget history, especially the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
