COVID-19 Update As Of September 3: New Cases 7,797, Deaths Increase 574 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 209,289 specimens were examined with the results of 7,797 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,116,890 and active cases are 176,638," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Friday, September 3.

Today's recovered cases increased by 15,544 cases, bringing the total to 3,813,643 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 574 people and the total was 134,930 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 845 cases and a total of 693,814 cases. Followed by East Java which has 771 new cases with a total of 385,998 cases. Central Java has 727 new cases and a total of 472,139 cases. Then, North Sumatra has 566 new cases and a total of 98,302 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 2,341 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 1,306 recovered cases, South Kalimantan with an increase of 1,205 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 1,094 recovered cases.

No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 32,833,137.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 13.42 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 256,777 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 65,894,673 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 37,648,033 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

Meanwhile, the third dose of vaccination for health workers was 694,662. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
