JAKARTA - The Tanjung Duren Police are still investigating the sound of the explosion coming from inside the Taman Anggrek Mall. Although it was not the sound of a bomb explosion, the police were still investigating.

"According to the technician's explanation, the generator has not been used for a long time because the mall was closed. The generator was just turned on and then there was an explosion," said Tanjung Duren Police Chief Kompol Rosana Albertina Labobar to VOI, Thursday 2 August.

Kompol Ocha, as he is known, said the explosion at the Taman Orchid mall was in the generator.

"So it was a funnel from an exploding generator, not (a bomb) at all, we've checked," he confirmed.

According to Kompol Ocha, the generator was only activated after the mall closed during the Emergency PPKM period. The police have also checked the location of the explosion in P2.

"I make sure the mall is safe," he said.

Confirmed separately, Rismardi as the management of Taman Anggrek Mall ensured that the explosion from the generator did not have any impact on the mall's operations.

"It hasn't been on for a long time, then at first it turned on nothing else, there was no damage and immediately we stopped (the generator) without any problems," he said.

Previously, netizens were shocked by the sound of explosions and black smoke in the Taman Anggrek Mall area on Thursday afternoon.
