40 Percent Of Transjakarta Employees Have Not Been Vaccinated, The Deputy Governor Of DKI Just Found Out

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria admitted that he just found out that there are still 40 percent of Transjakarta employees who have not been vaccinated. Currently, only 60 percent of employees have been vaccinated.

"I just received this information. It will be checked later," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 1.

Riza said that almost all Transjakarta employees who meet the requirements must have been vaccinated. Because they are public service officers who interact with the community.

"All health workers, public service personnel, have to complete close to 100 percent. God willing, we will make sure that all public services have to be vaccinated," said Riza.

After this, Riza said that he would directly confirm the achievement of employee vaccinations to PT Transjakarta and ensure that all employees had been vaccinated.

Previously, PT Transjakarta admitted that 40 percent of its employees had not been vaccinated. The fact that 60 percent of Transjakarta employees are still vaccinated was revealed in a meeting between Transjakarta and the DKI DPRD.

Eneng Malianasari, a member of Commission B of the DKI DPRD, admitted that he was surprised. This is because Transjakarta currently requires its passengers to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Meanwhile, there are still employees who have not been vaccinated.

"How can you demand that all passengers be vaccinated, but on the other hand, the workers on duty are not protected by the vaccine? Public servants should be an example and if they can get close to 100 percent vaccinated, "Eneng said in his statement.

According to him, vaccination of Transjakarta officers is very important because officers have direct contact with crowds of passengers at bus stops and buses, so they have a high risk of contracting and transmitting the virus.

Not to mention, the DKI Provincial Government has also begun to enforce the odd-even rule and there are also face-to-face school trial activities. More and more people will use public transportation.

"So, there is no longer any reason that TransJakarta officials have not been vaccinated," said Eneng.
