MATARAM - Eight families (KK) who have been occupying land management rights or HPL in the Mandalika Circuit area in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, finally voluntarily vacated the land. They relocated independently.

"We appreciate residents who consciously admit that they have occupied land that is included in the ITDC HPL and are willing to move and demolish their houses independently. We are also grateful that this independent relocation activity can run smoothly and without any disturbance. All of this cannot be separated from a humanist and social approach consistent and understanding from the residents who occupy this land. This independent relocation further shows proof of our commitment to avoiding the process of eviction or forced relocation of the community," said Managing Director of The Mandalika Bram Subiandoro, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 31.

He said the eight families previously occupied two HPL ITDC plots of 2,890 m2 and 3,250 m2 in the Ujung Lauk Hamlet, Kuta Village.

"The independent relocation activity itself has been carried out from Saturday (28/8) to Tuesday (31/8)," he said.

According to Bram, the eight families are part of the 48 families who still live in the special area road area (JKK) and are spread over three enclave land parcels and 11 ITDC HPL land parcels.

"To solve problems related to residents who still live in the JKK area, ITDC has taken a number of ways, namely for three enclave land areas that are in the process of land acquisition with land owners included in Penlok 1," said Bram.

Meanwhile, for residents who occupy land that is included in the ITDC HPL, his party has prepared a number of solutions to resolve the obstacles they face. The solution includes, among others, having prepared two tunnels for access in and out of or into the area within JKK and a new road on the edge of the service road as access to Seger Beach.

"In the near future, empowering these residents with training so that later residents can play a role in organizing international racing events and empowering them to work on ITDC-owned properties, for example the Pullman Mandalika Hotel," said Bram.

ITDC continued Bram, also prepared a suitable place to provide business opportunities in the Mandalika Bazaar, and finally, in the medium term, ITDC will relocate these residents to a permanent location for tourist residential facilities that are being prepared by the Ministry of PUPR.

"This independent relocation by residents is also a big support for ITDC in accelerating the construction of the JKK to welcome the WSBK international motorcycle racing event and also the pre-season test of the MotoGP racing event in 2022.

"We believe that with a humanist approach that involves related parties and the solutions we have prepared, the problems of residents who still live and occupy land included in the ITDC HPL can be resolved soon," he said.

One of the residents who carried out the demolition in Ujung Lauk Hamlet, Ware, said that he supports ITDC for the construction of the circuit so that it can be completed quickly.

"Hopefully nothing gets in the way so that we are officially ready to move because the land we occupy is land on the ITDC HPL. I don't want to be burdened, hopefully Central Lombok can move forward in the future," he said.
