Teenager In Riau Dies Without A Head, BKSDA Asks For Divisum To Make Sure The Tiger Was Pounced On Or Not

RIUA - A teenager with the initials MA (16) was found dead without a head allegedly due to a tiger attack in Siak Regency, Riau Province at around 18.00 WIB today. The Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) has been dispatched to the scene for evacuation.

"We sent a team to the location of the conflict between the Sumatran tiger and humans. We ask that the victim be sent for a post-mortem to make sure that the Sumatran tiger was attacked or not," said Head of Technical Division of the Riau KSDA Center, M Mahfud, to reporters in Pekanbaru, Antara, Monday. August 30.

The post-mortem of the victim was carried out to determine whether the victim died from being eaten by a Sumatran tiger or other causes. The BKSDA team brought a trap cage to evacuate if it was confirmed that the victim was really being eaten by a Sumatran tiger.

"The location where the victim was pounced on is one of the enclaves of the Sumatran tiger, so some of it has become an industrial forest plantation area for the company and part of it is an oil palm plantation," he said.

He appealed to the community around the location to remain calm and not to take any anarchic actions against the Sumatran tiger or other animals because it is protected by law.

In addition, people who carry out activities should not be alone but must be in groups.

The incident began when the victim and three of her siblings were playing with their cellphones at the PT Unisraya Port pier, Sunday, August 29 at around 18.30 WIB.

Then, the victim's father named Rustam called his children to turn on the generator. However, only two of his children arrived at the mess and one was missing.

Worried, the father looked for his lost son to the dock. It was already dark, so Rustam returned to the mess to get a flashlight.

"At 19.00 WIB the victim's father continued the search. But he saw blood spots and his son's cellphone about 40 meters from the mess. Rustam rushed to seek help from colleagues and the surrounding community, looking for the victim's whereabouts," he said.

After searching, around 23.00 WIB, Rustam and the community found the victim's body without a head and genitals about 20 meters from the mess.
