Police Arrested Karangasem Bali Police For Fake Vaccine Letters And ABK Producers

KANGASEM - The Karangasem Police Team, Bali, arrested 22 crew members (ABK) and the perpetrators of making fake vaccine certificates so they could cross from Padangbai Harbor, Karangasem, Bali, to Lembar Harbor, Lombok.

The suspects had the initials I (45), SH (29), YR (45), AH (29), H (32), PA (38), A (21), MF (38), H (22), J ( 36), AS (17), R (21), S (46), A (23), S (39), WHA (21), JI (21), J (31), J (50), S ( 36), R (24) and S (21).

"Currently, he has been named a suspect," said Karangasem Police Chief AKBP Ricko AA Taruna, at the Karangasem Police Headquarters, Bali, Monday, August 30.

The disclosure of this fake vaccine letter began when a group of 31 crew members entered Terminal 1 of Padangbai Harbor, Karangasem, Bali, on Thursday, August 26. They use two vehicles, namely a bus and an Innova car.

During an inspection using the PeduliLindung application, 18 crew members were found using fake vaccine certificates. Two coordinators with the initials RH and YR were immediately arrested.

"From the development results, 18 used fake vaccine certificates. While the other 13 (ABK) did not use it, because the other 13 people didn't want to. The first they knew that the vaccine was free, the second the vaccine certificate was fake. But we have checked as witnesses the case," he said.

The police immediately searched for the mastermind behind making the letter known to be in Lombok. The two initials YH and AH were arrested on Friday, August 27.

The perpetrators made fake vaccine letters for the crew so that they could cross from Padangbai Port to Lembar Port, Lombok, because the crew had never received a COVID-19 vaccine.

"Suspect initials I and suspect initials SH collect ID cards of the crew to make fake vaccine letters, then suspect initials I ask suspect initials YR to make fake vaccine letters," said AKBP Ricko.

"So, for one (fake vaccine letter) the crew is asked for Rp. 200 thousand. If the results of the examination are only done once," he continued.

The suspect was charged with Article 263 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code jo. Article 55 of the Criminal Code concerning alleged criminal acts of forgery of letters.
