Cadres Affected By OTT Together With Regent Puput Tantriana, NasDem Ensures Not To Block The Legal Process At The KPK

JAKARTA - The chairman of the NasDem faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Ali, was shocked by the incident that happened to one of its members, Hasan Aminuddin, who was also arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) during the Hand Capture Operation (OTT) at the residence of the Regent of Probolinggo, Puput Tantriana Sari.

"We are very concerned and saddened by this incident," Ahmad Ali told reporters on Monday, August 30.

The Deputy Chairperson of the NasDem Party DPP explained that currently his party is still observing and studying the chronology of what actually happened. He hoped that the principle of presumption of innocence would still be put forward in the case that befell the Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the DPR.

However, said Ali, the NasDem Party will not hinder the ongoing legal process at the KPK. NasDem, he said, would respect all forms of legal processes in this country.

"We obey the rules and will respect all existing processes. We will also not hinder it," said Ali.

Ahmad Ali added that the NasDem DPP already has internal rules if any of its cadres are involved in legal cases, especially corruption.

His choice, he said, was to resign from all positions and quit his party membership. This rule has been in effect for a long time and all cadres have understood and obeyed it.

"As members of the DPR, we all have and have signed an integrity pact. If there is a legal case, in an arrest position, whatever it is, even though it has not been declared a suspect, the person concerned immediately resigns," concluded Ahmad Ali.
