KPK Deputy Chairman Lili Pintauli Proven Violation Of The Code Of Ethics, Sanctioned With 12 Months Salary Deduction

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has decided that the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Lili Pintauli Siregar, violated the code of ethics. Lili was proven to have communicated with the litigants, namely the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial.

Lili violated the code of ethics and code of conduct in the form of abusing the influence of the KPK leadership for personal gain and dealing directly with parties whose cases are being handled by the KPK. This is regulated in Article 4 Paragraph 2 Letter b and Council Regulation Number 2 of 2020.

This decision was read out in the code of conduct verdict hearing which was held on Monday, August 30.

"Try and declare the examinee Lili Pintauli Siregar guilty of violating the code of ethics and code of conduct in the form of abuse of influence as KPK Leader for personal interests and relating to the party whose case is being handled," said the Chair of the Tumpak Hatorangan Ethics Council in an online trial.

Furthermore, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Board sentenced Lili to severe sanctions in the form of a year's salary deduction.

"Punishing the examinee with severe sanctions in the form of cutting his basic salary by 40 percent for 12 months," said Tumpak.

There are two things that incriminate Lili so that she was sentenced. He is said to have shown no remorse for his actions and did not set an example and role model as a KPK leader.

While the mitigating thing is that Lili admits her actions and has never been sentenced to ethical sanctions.

This decision was taken at the Assembly Deliberation on Thursday, August 26 with Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean as chairman, Albertina Ho and Harjono as members of the assembly. It was previously reported that Lili's alleged ethical violation was reported by two KPK investigators who were inactive because they did not pass the National Insight Test Assessment ( TWK) Novel Baswedan and Rizka Anungnata, and the now retired Director of the KPK's Inter-Commission and Institutional Network Development (PJKAKI) Sujanarko.

Novel Baswedan et al reported Lili on two alleged violations. First, he allegedly contacted the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial and informed him of the handling of the alleged corruption case that ensnared him, namely the sale and purchase of positions in the Tanjung Balai City Government.

Second, Lili is said to have used her position as the head of the KPK with the aim of pressuring the Mayor of Tanjungbalai Syahrial. This was done to settle the staffing affairs of his sister-in-law Ruri Prihatini Lubis at the Tirta Kualo Tanjungbalai Drinking Water Company.
