Lili Pintauli Will Be Reported By MAKI To Bareskrim If Proven Guilty

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) is ready to report the deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lili Pintauli Siregar to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters if it is proven that she communicated with the inactive Tanjung Balai Mayor M. Syahrial.

MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman said that if the allegations were proven in court, he would ask the KPK to fire Lili Pintauli for violating the code of ethics.

"MAKI asks the KPK Council to impose a maximum sanction in the form of dismissal if found guilty of violating a severe code of ethics, namely allegations of communicating directly or indirectly with the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M. Syahrial Mayor, or allegedly abusing his authority to intervene in paying family salaries, positions the directors of PDAM Tanjungbalai.” said Boyamin Saiman to VOI, Monday, August 30.

According to Boyamin, the toughest sanction for the KPK Council was a request for resignation or dismissal of the suspect, Lili Pintauli Siregar.

"If Lili Pintauli Siregar is found guilty by the KPK Council, then MAKI plans to take the option to report to the Criminal Investigation Police of the National Police for alleged criminal acts as stipulated in Article 36 of the KPK Law Number 30 of 2002 which reads: KPK leaders are prohibited from having direct or indirect relationships with suspects or other parties who are related to corruption cases handled by the KPK for any reason.” he explained.

Today, the KPK Supervisory Board will decide on the complaint of alleged violations by Lili Pintauli Siregar related to the alleged intervention of the inactive Tanjung Balai Mayor M. Syahrial.

Lili was reported to the KPK Council on suspicion of violating the code of ethics for providing information about the development of the handling of the case in Tanjungbalai that dragged M. Syahrial.
