COVID-19 Update As Of August 29: There Are 7,427 Positive Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released data on the progress of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 154,160 specimens as of August 29, 7,427 confirmed positive cases were found.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,073,831," quoted from Ministry of Health data, Sunday, August 29.

Meanwhile, the recovered cases also increased quite a lot with 16,468 people. Thus, the cumulative total recovered cases reached 3,724,318 people.

On the other hand, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased by 551 people. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 131,923 people.

Still referring to the data from the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of additional positive cases, East Java. 666 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 was North Sumatra with 653 cases. Furthermore, West Java with 624 positive cases, Central Java with 517 cases, and DKI Jakarta with 474 COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, for recovered cases, based on data, the most cases were found in East Java Province with 1,610 cases.

In second position, West Java Province with 1,553 recovered cases. Then, Central Java Province with 1,267 cases, and Riau with 1,140 cases recovered.

So far, only Maluku Province has reported additional cases of under 10 and no positive cases.

Furthermore, the number of specimens that have been examined has reached 31,845,407. In detail, as many as 22,919,114 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 225,878 specimens using the molecular rapid test (TCM), and 8,700,415 specimens by antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 10.29 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 249,836 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.
