Opening Road Access, TNI Personnel Supports Economic Improvement For South OKU Residents

PALEMBANG – The opening of a road in one of the villages in the border area was carried out by TNI personnel while carrying out the Large-Scale Community Service program in Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan Regency, South Sumatra.

South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regent Popo Ali Martopo in Muaradua, Saturday, said the road was opened in Bandar Agung Village to Srimenanti Village, Mekakau Ilir District.

The opening of this road will certainly help the community, especially in transporting or selling agricultural products.

"Hopefully this community service can run smoothly and the results can be used by the community," he said.

For the zero point, this activity starts from Pematang Obar Village with a length of approximately 9 Kilometers.

Pangdam II Sriwijaya Maj. Gen. Agus Suhardi said that in 2020, a 7 km long road had been opened from Simpang Pancur Village to Bandar Agung Village, Pulau Bering District.

Meanwhile, in 2021, it will continue from Bandar Agung Village to Srimenanti Village, Mekakau Ilir District.

“The implementation of this Large-Scale Work of Service program is a real manifestation of the TNI's love for the people. We hope that the opening of this road can encourage the people's economy in South OKU," he said.

The work of Bakti with the community is a form of implementation of one of the points of the Eight Mandatory Armed Forces, which reads as an example and pioneering efforts to overcome the difficulties of the people around them.

The work of devotion aims to build solidity and synergy between TNI soldiers and government officials and other components of society in order to strengthen the unity of the TNI and the people who have been well nurtured.
