BLBI Task Force Successfully Secures 5.2 Million Meters Of Land Assets, Mahfud MD: Alhamdulillah

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Enforcement of State Collection Rights for the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance Fund (BLBI) succeeded in controlling physical and state assets of 50 parcels of land, covering an area of 5.2 million square meters.

Physical control and state assets are marked by the installation of boards in various regions in Indonesia. The event was witnessed by the Minister of Finance Srimulyani Idrawati, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Komjen Agus Andrianto, and Deputy Attorney General Setia Untung Arimuladi.

"Alhamdulillah, today we have just witnessed the physical control of state assets originating from collection rights on state receivables from BLBI obligors or debtors, which was marked by the installation of boards of control and supervision of ex-BLBI state assets in four cities throughout Indonesia, with an area of approx. 5.2 million square meters," said Mahfud at the event, Jakarta, Friday, August 27.

Mahfud said the asset control of BLIBI obligors was a realization of the state's authority regarding the delivery of obligor's and debtor's assets. This he has acknowledged himself in the master recognition agreement debt acknowledgment deed or through asset settlement.

"Therefore, the government's efforts to recover state collection rights on state receivables from BLBI funds are carried out seriously and will continue to be serious and continuously by coordinating and collaborating between ministries and institutions," he said. by the state, will provide very significant benefits for the nation and state. This is the first step in the settlement of state claims for debts from obligors.

"The government expects obligors or debtors to fulfill their obligations to settle their debts to the state," said Mahfud.

It is known that the BLBI task force was inaugurated in early June. This refers to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) No. 6/2021 concerning the Task Force for Handling State Collection Rights for BLBI Funds, which was issued two months earlier.

The BLBI Task Force is under and directly responsible to the President. The establishment of the Task Force aims to effectively and efficiently handle, settle and restore state rights originating from BLBI funds. Debt collection will be carried out on all obligors and debtors that reach Rp110.45 trillion.
