After Meeting Anies Baswedan, 7 Factions Agree Not To Participate In PDIP-PSI Interpellation Of Formula E

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Mohamad Taufik, admitted that seven factions of the DKI DPRD refused to submit an interpellation to DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan regarding Formula E.

Taufik said this decision was agreed after seven factions other than PDIP and PSI were invited to a meeting at Anies' official residence last night.

"The agreement of 7 factions, namely Gerindra, PKS, Democrat, PAN, NasDem, PKB-PPP with 73 members does not participate in the interview," Taufik said when contacted, Friday, August 27.

Taufik said that the seven factions agreed that the regional government in the capital city should focus on resolving the COVID-19 pandemic rather than taking care of the interpellation process.

"Let's finish this pandemic first, more importantly. People need the pandemic to end so the economy can run. I think it's more about working for the community, that's all," said Taufik.

Moreover, according to Taufik, interpellation is difficult to implement. This is because the application for the right of interpellation was only proposed by 33 DPRD members from the PDIP and PSI factions. After the proposal, the DPRD will still determine the schedule for holding a plenary meeting to decide whether the interpellation can be held or not.

In order to approve the implementation of the interpellation, DPRD members who are present at the plenary meeting must meet a quorum of 50 percent + 1 or as many as 54 DPRD members.

"There is a condition that the interpellation must meet the plenary quorum of 50 percent + 1. In making decisions it must be 50 + 1. We have 73 council members from 7 factions who do not participate in the interpellation. That's roughly the case," he concluded.
