2 Killed In Shooting Case In Walmart, California

JAKARTA - A shooting at a Walmart distribution center in Red Bluff, California, kills two people and injures four others Saturday, June 27.

Reported by Reuters, the Tehama County Sheriff's Assistant said the incident occurred at 15.30 around the time. The perpetrator circled the central parking lot four times, before crashing his vehicle into the building and opening fire with a semi-automatic rifle.

The shooter killed an employee before police officers shot and killed the assailant.

Authorities identified the employee as Martin Haro-Lozano, 45, from Orland, California.

Walmart is aware of these events and is ready to work with local law enforcement authorities.

"We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident," the company said in a statement.

"The case is still under active police investigation and we will continue to work with the Tehama County Sheriff's Office to assist with the investigation," he added.

Meanwhile, the injured victim was taken to the Community Hospital St. Elizabeth in Red Bluff.

Local media said the Tehama County Sheriff's Office was conducting a criminal investigation with help from the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Red Bluff is a city of about 14,000 people located about 210 kilometers north of Sacramento, California.
