Central Java Police Conduct Insulations On Weekends, Pedestrians Must Prove COVID Vaccines

CENTRAL CENTRAL - Central Java (Central Java) Regional Police again conducted isolation at the weekend to anticipate the increasing mobility of people traveling. This step was taken to reduce the spike in COVID-19 cases.

"According to the order of the regional police chief, the blockade will be reactivated every Friday, Saturday and Sunday," said Director of Traffic for the Central Java Police, Kombes Rudy Syafirudin, in Semarang, Antara, Thursday, August 26.

He explained that there was a spike in the mobility of road users, both between regions in Central Java and those from outside the province during the weekend. According to him, many people go on vacation or visit their relatives.

In later blocking, he continued, road users must be required to have been vaccinated with the evidence shown in the Care for Protection application.

For road users who have not been vaccinated, he said, they will be directed to follow the vaccination which will also be provided at the blocking points.

"The goal is education for road users. Nothing will be reversed," he said.

As for the pattern of blocking, he explained, it will be carried out at the borders between regencies/cities and randomly at rest areas on toll roads. He said the number of COVID-19 in Central Java was now under control.

Therefore, he continued, people's mobility must still be controlled so that the number of COVID-19 does not increase again.
