JAKARTA - The arrest of four young residents of Johar Baru, Central Jakarta who carried sharp weapons in the jurisdiction of Jatinegara, East Jakarta, seems to be an entity of courage in the context of social stratification as a means of proof in Johar Baru, an area known for brawls.

The courage of the perpetrators to persecute the target when he is helpless, with sharp weapons, injuring him to take his life, is the main problem faced. Teenagers are in conflict with the law.

“Logically of course they understand and understand. In fact, they often seek elasticity to what extent the consequences will be accepted. However, group loyalty and neutralizing motives for the actions taken erode the pressure on these risks.” continued Lucky.

According to Lucky, this cannot be separated from the role of parents, community leaders, and law enforcers. Some of these elements have a strong influence on providing education as a preventive measure.

“In the context of children and youth, we cannot 100 percent delegate responsibility to them. Therefore, the control that can be carried out contains at least two aspects, firstly social control, starting from parental supervision, intervention of local community leaders, to directed assignments from schools. Second, coaching with educational solutions is no longer repressive but prioritizes a preventive approach. By being involved in various productive activities in the neighborhood that targets their peer group, not just individuals.” he explained.

Previously, it was reported that four youths were arrested by Jatinegara Police officers because they were found to be carrying a number of sharp weapons. The police suspect that the four youths are planning a brawl.

Jatinegara Police Chief Kompol Yusuf Suhadma said the four youths arrested on Jalan Raya Jatinegara Barat, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 24, were not local residents.

"After being investigated, it turned out that it was not someone from our area, but Johar Baru (Central Jakarta)," Yusuf Suhadma quoted Antara, Thursday, August 26.

Yusuf Suhadma added that the four arrested youths had plans to head to Bekasi, West Java, for a brawl.

"Want to have a fight, just in case (bring a knife). But not in the Jatinegara area, going to Bekasi," said Yusuf Suhadma.

Yusuf said that of the four youths who were arrested, one of them was known to be underage. From the arrests, evidence in the form of two sickle blades was also secured.

Yusuf added that the Jatinegara Police are still developing the case of the young man carrying the sharp weapon.

"We apply Law No. 12 of 1951 on Sharp Weapons," said Yusuf.
