Left While Praying, The Warung Guard's Motorbike Was Lost And Taken By Thieves

JAKARTA - A gang of motor vehicle thieves raided a grocery store on Puspa Street RT 13/06, Utan Kayu Selatan Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta. The perpetrators managed to get away with the motorbike belonging to Laras, the shop owner, in less than 2 minutes.

The theft was told by Laras when she was doing the Maghrib prayer. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 24, in the evening, around 18.00 WIB. At that time, the area was deserted by residents.

"The situation at the front is quiet, then someone enters the shop recorded by a CCTV camera. Only the situation is Maghrib, it's time for prayer, people at home are also doing ablution. The perpetrators kept coming out again, immediately heard the sound of a motorbike leaving", Laras told reporters, Wednesday, August 25.

Laras stated that this motorcycle theft had also occurred in the area around his house a year ago.

Laras has reported this incident to the Matraman Police today through her husband. When making the report, her husband brought along other vehicle documents to be accepted by the police. In fact, Laras also had time to come to the Matraman Police to deliver the keys to the dirty bicycle that had been lost.

"The mode recorded on CCTV, the perpetrator had to spend money pretending to be shopping, but when she saw it was quiet, she immediately took action", she said.

From the CCTV footage at the location, the perpetrator was seen wearing a jacket and hat

"The person is the same and the clothes are the same. On the CCTV you can see that my motorcycle light is on and the direction is up. The perpetrator immediately took away (my motorbike)", she said.

As of this writing, the case is still being handled by the Matraman Police Headquarters. However, until now, no police officers have carried out the crime scene (TKP).

"There is not yet (the TKP from Matraman Police)", he said.
