KKB Still Roaming, Yahuli Regent Asks Non-Indigenous Papuans In Yahukimo To Stop Exit Activities

JAKARTA - The Regent of Yahukimo, Papua Province, Didimus Yahuli asked residents, especially non-Indigenous Papuans (OAP) to temporarily not move out of Dekai City. This is due to the condition of Kamtibmas in the area that is not yet conducive.

"I hope that non-OAP residents will temporarily stay in the city to avoid falling victims due to the actions of the KKB," said Regent Yahuli when contacted in Jayapura, Antara, Wednesday, August 25.

The regent hopes that the community can cooperate by not doing activities outside the city, such as cutting wood into the mountains or going to the fields. The Regent expressed concern over the incidents experienced by civilians in his area, including two bridge workers who were killed near Kali Brazza.

"That's why it is hoped that for the time being non-OAP residents will no longer look for wood or participate in pans to avoid casualties," explained Regent Yahuli.

He also expressed his condolences for the deaths of the workers killed by the KKB.

"This group is not a resident of Yahukimo Regency, and I hope that the TNI-Polri can catch the criminals," Yahukimo Regent Didimus Yahuli hoped.

The KKB led by Tenius Gwijangge, last Sunday, August 22, killed two employees of PT Indo Mulia Baru. Two employees who were killed, namely Rionaldo Raturoma and Dedi Imam Pamuji (Didik) have been evacuated to Timika and Surabaya for burial.
