PPKM Solo Down To Level 3, Gibran Calls Mall Opening Chance To Normal Open

JAKARTA - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated that so far there has been no instruction from the central government to simulate the opening of tourist attractions in the area.

"There is no instruction for that yet, waiting for the Inmen (Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs) as well," he said after the Coordination Meeting of the Surakarta City COVID-19 Task Force in Solo, reported by Antara, Monday, August 23.

He said the regional government was still wary of the spike in COVID-19 cases that could reoccur at any time so that simulation activities had not been carried out.

"Yes, we must remain vigilant, if it is allowed in Inmen, I will dare," he said.

Gibran added that easing in other sectors of the economy has not been carried out so far. However, if the latest Ministry of Home Affairs for Solo is reduced from level 4 to level 3, there is a possibility that economic activity will be relaxed again, including the normal opening of malls.

"Yes, it could be allowed again. What is certain is that currently the COVID-19 case in Solo is improving," he said.

He said that so far it has not been decided when mall operations and shopping centers can reopen normally even though a number of managers have carried out simulations.
