JAKARTA - TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto asked the Kulon Progo Regency Government, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) to speed up the "tracing" stage or tracing close contacts confirmed by COVID-19 because cases in this area are still high, ie 150 to 200 cases per day.

"With the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kulon Progo still above 150 cases to 200 cases per day, it means that it is still at level 4. For that, our task must be to carry out a lot of close contact tracing, even though in the field there are obstacles. On average one confirmation "In Kulon Progo, we have only carried out tracing of two to three close contacts, hopefully it can be more than eight people," he said in Kulon Progo, quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 21.

"For this reason, the four pillars of accelerating the handling of COVID-19, the TNI, Polri, regional government and puskesmas must work hard to make people want to carry out isolation in isoters, unless close contact tracing results are negative, they can carry out isoman for five days," he said.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that until now, the government is still evaluating the implementation of the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities from Level I to Level 4.

Currently, the government is also providing some concessions for community activities for regions that are able to reduce the rate of additional COVID-19 confirmations.

"There are some concessions for community activities, so that people carry out daily activities, such as in the downstream economic activity sector, and some industries can operate with concessions from 50 percent to 75 percent," he said.

According to the National Police Chief, this leeway has the potential to increase interactions and there is a potential for increased transmission of COVID-19. For this reason, he appealed to the existing relaxed situation, the community continued to strictly implement health protocols, starting from wearing masks, limiting activities at high-case points, must obey the rules according to the Instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs.

"Hopefully, transmission in the community can be suppressed. On the other hand, we are accelerating the implementation of vaccinations in these weeks until the end of the year. For this reason, we urge the public to immediately register for vaccinations at outlets provided by the TNI, Polri in collaboration with the Regency Government which provides vaccination services. It is hoped that people who carry out activities are protected by vaccines," said the National Police Chief.
