There's Lychee Bandung In The Style Of The Iconic United States Museum In Singapore

JAKARTA - Are you an ice cream fan and really want to visit the Museum of Ice Cream in the United States but haven't made it? The high cost of accommodation and transportation to visa problems, often becomes a stumbling block to flying to Uncle Sam's country.

However, now you can visit the Museum of Ice Cream closer, along with the opening of this museum branch in Singapore. Yes, starting this August 19, the Museum of Ice Cream is present in the Dempsey Hill area, Singapore.

The location is definitely at 100 Loewen Road. This is the first Museum of Ice Cream outside the Americas. Two similar museums are located in New York City and Austin, United States.

So what can visitors expect in this 60,000-square-foot pink building? Here you can enjoy cafes, bars, retail stores and 14 unique interactive installations, such as the Marble Run area, California Dreamin and Scream's Diner. And of course, the Sprinkle Pool, the largest and the main attraction of this museum.

A visit to the ice cream museum is definitely not complete without eating the delicacy of ice cream. Here, guests can enjoy unlimited delicious flavors with a local touch, such as Pulut Hitam, Lemon Bliss Balls, Apple Pie Soft Serve, Taro Milk Tea and Lychee Bandung.

To note, Lychee Bandung is a typical Singaporean ice cream variant which was developed in collaboration with The Ice Cream Cookie Co.

“We have been looking forward to opening our first international location for years, and we are excited to officially launch in Singapore today,” said Maryellis Bunn, co-founder and creative director of the museum.

To mark its launch, the Museum of Ice Cream held a variety of nostalgic games such as chapteh and five rocks during its opening weekend from August 19 to 22. There's also an ice cream truck, where guests can find exclusive Mercones (erm, that's part Merlion, part ice cream) and National Day themed temporary tattoos. While at the bar, diners can try the Singapore Sling boba cocktail.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, fully vaccinated visitors will be able to enjoy the experience in groups of five, including with unvaccinated children aged 12 and under, if all children are from the same household.

Meanwhile, visitors who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine will be required to present a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result, from the clinic taken within the last 24 hours prior to entry time.

The Singapore Museum of Ice Cream is open from 10am to 11pm, Thursday to Sunday. Ticket prices start from 38 Singapore dollars or around IDR 403,109. As for children aged two years and under, they can enjoy free entry. Interested in coming here?
