Plenary Meeting Of The 2022 State Budget Bill, Puan: Prioritized For The Interests Of The People

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives held a 2nd plenary meeting for the first trial period 2021-2022 with the agenda of listening to the views of factions on the 2022 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Bill (RUU APBN) on Thursday, August 19.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, appealed to the factions to provide comprehensive input and views regarding the 2022 State Budget Bill. She asked that the 2022 State Budget be prioritized for the benefit of the people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"So that the 2022 state budget can be used for the greatest benefit of the people, to save the people from the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recovery," said Puan, Thursday, August 19.

Puan emphasized that the DPR must provide support for the improvement of the health sector which is being pursued by the government.

Puan also reminded that the 2022 state budget must be responsive, flexible, and adaptive, because the conditions of uncertainty are still very high due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The DPR, he said, must also continue to carry out optimal monitoring.

"The key to economic revival is health recovery. So the DPR is obliged to carry out optimal supervision, both on legislation, budgets and precise monitoring of government policies, taking into account conditions that are still uncertain due to the pandemic," said Puan. Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that the DPR would listen to the views of the factions regarding the 2022 State Budget. Then, the discussion would proceed to the next stage with the government. Dasco said that on average, the factions have already stated their approval of the 2022 APBN Bill. However, according to him, there are still dynamics in it so that the rapur will also confirm from the perspective of each faction.

"Of course there are dynamics, I think, although there are not many, on average the factions express their agreement, although later there may still be input here and there from the factions for the benefit of all of us," said Dasco.
