PWI Jakarta Will Announce MHT Awards 2021 Winners, Anies Baswedan Also Gets Award

JAKARTA - Soon, the Provincial Management of the Jakarta Indonesian Journalists Association together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's Communications and Information Service will announce the 47th Mohammad Husni Thamrin Journalistic Award winner in 2021. At the event which will be held on Wednesday, August 25, a Special Award will also be presented to Anies Baswedan, Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Unlike before the COVID-19 pandemic, the presentation of awards to the winners of previous journalism competitions, this time was completely carried out virtually. "The governor will also attend virtually," said PWI Jaya Chairman Sayid Iskandarsyah, Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

Last year, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event could still be held in a hybrid way, between offline and online. Given the high potential for the spread of COVID-19 in the capital, the award ceremony for this year's competition was agreed online.

Sayid Iskandarsyah and the jury for the 47th 2021 Mohammad Husni Thamrin journalism competition just held a meeting with Venny and Caca from the DKI Jakarta Diskominfotik at the PWI Jaya Secretariat, Prasada Sasana Karya Building, 9th floor, Suryopranoto, Central Jakarta.

In addition to making videos related to the judging, they also finalized various things for the smooth running of the awarding ceremony to the winners.

The journalistic work competition of Mohammad Husni Thamrin was held from a collaboration between PWI Jaya and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This is a journalistic work competition related to the dynamics of capital city development. For the Mohammad Husni Thamrin 47 2021 Journalism Award, a team of judges led by Irmanto, deputy chairman of the PWI Jaya organization, has screened and assessed journalistic works published in the period from June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021.

There are seven categories contested. Namely, Text Journalism, Photo Journalism, Video Journalism from Terrestrial Television Stations, Video Journalism from Streaming Television Mass Media, Audio Journalism from Radio, Infographic Journalism from both print and online media, and Editorials from both print and online media.

Sayid Iskandarsyah and Kadirah, chairman of the organizing committee, appreciated and expressed their gratitude to all parties who in the midst of a difficult economic situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic are still paying attention to supporting the routine activities of PWI Jaya and DKI Jakarta Discominfotik.

PWI Jaya will also give awards to DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. The award in the form of the PWI Jaya Awards will be presented at the nearest opportunity.

The PWI Jaya Awards are given to figures/figures or institutions for their role in society. Anies Baswedan is considered to have made a major contribution from his performance so far, including to the public/press personnel.

"The governor provides a great space for openness to the press, including always supporting the Mohammad Husni Thamrin Journalism Award," said Sayid Iskandarsyah. Anies Baswedan, he said, was also working hard in an effort to reduce the transmission rate of COVID-19 in the capital. "We have given PWI Jaya Awards to several figures with extraordinary integrity, such as Dudung Abdurachman when he served as Pangdam Jaya," said Cak Herry Sarsongko Ludiro, chairman of the PWI Jaya Award.
