Will Submit Recommendations Regarding KPK Employees To The President, Komnas HAM: We Hope They Are Accepted Immediately

JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) hopes to meet directly with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to submit his findings and recommendations regarding the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) for employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Komnas HAM Commissioner Choirul Anam said during the meeting, his party not only submitted findings and recommendations but also provided direct explanations regarding the findings of violations in the test.

"We hope that the President will receive it directly. Apart from submitting the full report of the meeting, it is also important for direct explanations, especially showing evidence as a basis for conclusions," Anam said when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, August 18.

Furthermore, he said his party had not yet submitted their complete findings and recommendations to the KPK. "Our report to the President," said Anam. As previously reported, Komnas HAM stated that there were 11 rights violations experienced by KPK employees in the implementation of TWK, namely the right to justice and legal certainty; women's rights; the right not to discriminate; the right to freedom of religion and belief; right to work; and the right to security.

The next right that is violated is the right to information; right to privacy; the right to freedom of assembly and association; the right to participate in government; and the right to freedom of expression.

As a result of this violation, Komnas HAM issued five recommendations which were submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as the highest authority holder and the highest civil service officer.

The contents of the recommendations include appointing employees who do not pass the TWK as ASN and restoring the good name of employees who are stigmatized as a result of this incident.

Meanwhile, the KPK continues to emphasize that the TWK process was not carried out arbitrarily without any basis. This status transfer process is in accordance with the mandate of applicable laws and regulations such as Law Number 19 of 2019, PP Number 41 of 2020, and Perkom Number 1 of 2021.

Even so, this institution claims to still respect and will study the findings of Komnas HAM. However, this will only be carried out after his party receives the dossier from the results of the investigation which was announced on Monday, August 16 yesterday.
