JAKARTA - The commander of the Laskar Merah Putih (LMP) mass organization (Ormas) Daenk Jamal regretted the incident where the 21-meter-long red and white flag was banned on the PIK bridge, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, during the 76th Indonesian Independence Day yesterday.

The three-pillar officer reasoned that the 21-meter-long red and white flag was prevented from crowding at PPKM Level 4, even though there were only 30 participants and adhered to the strict COVID-19 procedures.

"We represent the nation's children, we urge every party managing private places and so on, as long as the activities bring Indonesia's good name, as long as the activities are for the benefit of the nation and state, I don't think there is any need to make it difficult," said Daeng when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, August 18. .

During the flag-raising process carried out by the LMP mass organization, Tuesday, August 17, yesterday, there was tension between the participants and the three pillar officers. In fact, there was an argument between the two parties when the red and white flag was banned on the PIK bridge.

"I don't think it's necessary to make something superfluous, after all, we didn't come here to do anarchy. Not to disturb people's comfort. But LMP is here to restore the spirit of the Republic of Indonesia, all citizens of DKI Jakarta, especially Indonesia," he added.

According to Daenk Jamal, so far people have assumed that the existence of Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) is considered to be controlled by foreigners. For that, his party proved it by unfurling the red and white flag on the PIK Bridge.

"To eliminate the assumption of the people of Jakarta that it belongs to foreigners, it is difficult for the public to enter. We proved that it is not true. But what happened is very regretful, we were slightly hindered," said Jamal.

Jamal hopes that this activity will become a barometer in 34 other provinces to echo the spirit of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I, as the commander in chief, will raise this issue throughout the archipelago. I even urge LMP cadres in 34 provinces to organize activities like this every year," he said.
