Bogor Police Confiscate IDR 1.5 Billion Counterfeit Money From Money Multiplier Shaman

BOGOR - Bogor Resort Police, West Java, confiscated Rp1.5 billion in fake Rp100 thousand notes from a traditional healer with the initials SD who claimed to be able to double the money.

"This collaboration between the community and the Cileungsi Police has succeeded in uncovering the perpetrators of the circulation of counterfeit money during the pandemic, when the community's economy is currently experiencing difficulties," said Bogor Police Chief, AKBP Harun, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 17.

According to him, the disclosure of the counterfeit money case began when the Cileungsi Police received information from the public that some people were shopping at their stalls using counterfeit notes of Rp. 100,000 to buy cigarettes.

They are AG, AR, EH and DR. The four of them got fake money from the elementary school of a shaman or commonly called Mbah Jamrong, by exchanging the original Rp. 3 million for fake money of Rp. 10 million.

Harun said that initially the police arrested two perpetrators who spent counterfeit money at 11 stalls in Mampir Village, Dayeuh Village, Cileungsi District, Bogor Regency. Based on the perpetrator's confession, both of them got money from SD alias Mbah Jamrong.

"Mbah Jamrong, then asked the person who had doubled the money to him, to immediately spend the money. Mbah Jamrong herself has been doing this profession for two years," said Harun.

According to him, Mbah Jamrong received counterfeit money from the Army in Purwokerto, Central Java. Meanwhile, AD is on the People's Wanted List (DPO). Then, the manufacturer of this counterfeit money, is still unknown.

"It's still under development. We are still developing how much has been distributed," said Harun.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cileungsi Police, Kompol Andri Alam, explained that after receiving information from the two initial dealers, his party was pursuing them in four different locations, all of which were in Bandung.

"The results of the development in Bandung continue to the DPO initials AD in Purwokerto, Central Java. Furthermore, the suspects and evidence were secured for development," said Andri.
