National Police Chief: 141,605 Joint Personnel Joint Christmas-New Year

DENPASAR - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that as many as 141,605 joint TNI-Polri personnel and other stakeholders were used to secure Christmas and New Year's 2025.

"The Indonesian National Police carried out Candle Operations for 13 days from December 21 to January 2, 2025, involving 141,605 joint personnel of the National Police, the TNI and other stakeholders," said Sigit while leading the title ceremony for the Great Candle Operation Force at Niti Mandala Field, Renon, Denpasar, Bali, Friday, December 20.

The National Police Chief, who was accompanied by the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, said there were an additional 67,030 personnel from the TNI, bringing the total backup from the TNI to 80,856 TNI personnel.

Sigit said hundreds of thousands of joint personnel were spread across 2,794 posts consisting of 1,852 security posts, 735 service posts, 207 integrated posts.

The personnel secured 61,452 security objects consisting of churches, shopping centers, terminals, stations, ports, airports, tourist attractions and objects celebrating the new year.

"Nataru's security includes various activities ranging from securing the flow of homecoming, securing the object of the Christmas service, and also the object where the community carries out the turn of the year-end," he said.

The National Police Chief ensured to secure the entire series of community activities during Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025.

In addition, the TNI-Polri have also prepared special joint personnel to anticipate natural disasters during the Christmas and New Year periods. Especially for Bali, the TNI-Polri have prepared 2,200 joint personnel.

"Bali is one of the tourist destinations that is usually used for the implementation of year-end holidays, both domestic and foreign tourists," he said.
