JAKARTA - The number of new positive cases of COVID-19 on Monday 22 June at 12.00 WIB increased to 954 patients. Thus, the total number of positive cases was 46,845 people.

The government spokesman for the handling of COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto explained, the underlying factor was the number of examinations that only tested 10,926 specimens in one day. Meanwhile, in the last few days, the number of specimens examined in one day has reached nearly 20 thousand times in one day.

"This figure has decreased quite drastically because on last Sunday there were 28 laboratories that did not carry out examinations, most of which were hospital laboratories which then had a holiday and only started on Monday morning," said Yuri at Graha BNPB, East Jakarta, Monday, June 22. .

Then, 35 patients died, bringing it to 2,500 patients. There were an additional 331 patients recovered, bringing the total to 18,735 patients. The cure rate was mostly experienced by the 29 to 45 year age group.

Today, the highest number of new cases is again in East Java Province with 315 cases, bringing the total to 9,857 people.

Then, the second largest province is in DKI Jakarta with an increase of 127 cases and a total of 10,098 cases. Then, South Sulawesi with an increase of 111 cases and a total of 3,908 cases, South Kalimantan with an increase of 89 cases and a total of 2,658, and South Sumatra with an increase of 60 cases and a total of 1,839 cases.

Of the 34 provinces that reported, 19 provinces reported new cases under 10. Of these, 11 of them reported that today there were no additional new cases.

In details, in West Java today reported 17 new cases and 24 recovered, then NTB reported 11 new cases and 13 recovered, Gorontalo 3 new cases and 4 recovered cases, Yogyakarta no new cases and 7 recovered, West Kalimantan no new cases and 3 recovered, and West Sumatra had no new cases and 2 recovered.

Furthermore, the total number of specimens that had been examined was accumulatively as many as 650,311. In detail, 635,658 specimens were examined using RT-PCR and 14,653 specimens were examined using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

This examination was carried out in 121 active real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) laboratories, 98 TCM laboratories, and 248 network laboratories.
