Waiting For John Kei's Parole For Alleged Involvement In A Murder Case

JAKARTA - John Refra Kei alias John Kei is suspected of being the mastermind of the criminal offense against Yustus Corwing Rahakbau, Nus Kei's subordinate. This will have an impact on Jhon Kei's parole status. Even that status is in danger of being revoked.

However, this can not be done just like that. But must follow several processes. First, the Correctional Center (Bapas) will coordinate with the police to find out John Kei's role in the case. This is because the conditional free status is under the guidance and supervision of Bapas.

"Bapas will coordinate with the police regarding the Jhon Kei case. Furthermore, the Directorate General of PAS is waiting for the results of coordination from Bapas," said the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Corrections, Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Rika Aprianti to VOI, Monday, June 22.

Then, the Bapas party will inform the results of the coordination to the Directorate General of PAS. Later, the results of the coordination will be discussed by the Correctional Observer Team (TPP) at Bapas. From here, the status can be determined.

"The TPP trial will determine what action is given to John Kei," said Rika.

As for the granting of parole to John Kei in December 2019, for various reasons. The parole is based on the decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number: Pas-1502.PK.01.04.06 of 2019 dated 23 December 2019.

In addition, the Director of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat, said that Bapas had coordinated with the John Kei case. However, only through the telephone connection. This coordination led to a policy from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights regarding parole.

"Communication via telepom is already done. If we look at it, the aspect is the aspect of investigating the crime he (John Kei) has committed. Meanwhile, Kumham or Bapas is the policy," Tubagus briefly.

The role of John Kei

In the assault case that led to death, John Kei is suspected of being the mastermind of the crime. Because, from the results of the interim examination, evidence was found that John Kei ordered his men to kill Nus Kei, but Yustus Corwing Rahakbau (YDR) was killed.

"There was an order from Jhon Kei to his members, an indicator of the evil consensus of planning to kill Nus Kei and ER or YDR. There was a division of duties or their roles to plan the NK targets and then the EDR," said the Head of Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Nana Sudjana.

According to him, the economic motive was the trigger for the attack by the John Kei group that killed one person named Yustus on Sunday afternoon (21/6) at around 13.00 WIB in Duri Kosambi, West Jakarta.

Yustus is one of Nus Kei's subordinates. "So this is actually a personal problem but based on the absence of a solution they threaten each other through cellphones, this is after we check the cellphones of these perpetrators," said Nana.

Not only that, on the same day John Kei's men also damaged Nus Kei's house and damaged a four-wheeled vehicle belonging to Nus Kei's neighbor in Cipondoh, Tangerang.

For this incident, the Jakarta Metro Police Joint Team then arrested John Kei and 29 members of his group.

In this case, Polda Metro Jaya investigators have also named John Kei and 29 members of his group as suspects.

The articles imposed on these suspects are Article 88 related to criminal conspiracy, Article 340 regarding premeditated murder, Article 351 concerning persecution, Article 170 and Emergency Law No. 12 of 51.

The evidence that was also confiscated by the officers included 28 spears, 24 sharp weapons, 2 arrows, 3 arrows, 2 baseball sticks, and 17 cellphones.
