Riau Governor Syamsuar: On Behalf Of The People, Thank You Mr. Jokowi

The assistance of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) with medicines and oxygen concentrators was brought by a Hercules plane and landed at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base Pekanbaru/ Antara

JAKARTA - Riau Governor Syamsuar expressed his gratitude to Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for the assistance in the form of medicines and oxygen concentrators for handling COVID-19 in the area.

"On behalf of the government and the people of Riau, we express our deepest gratitude to Mr. President who has helped with medicines, vaccines and oxygen, of course, this will be useful for the people of Riau," said Syamsuar at the Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base Pekanbaru, as reported by Antara, Sunday, August 15th.

President Jokowi's assistance was taken by Hercules plane and landed at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base, Pekanbaru City.

He said the assistance provided by Indonesian President Jokowi was allocated to districts and cities throughout Riau Province in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regarding the President of the Republic of Indonesia who directly contacted him on Saturday, August 14, Syamsuar admitted that the President asked about the condition of COVID-19 in Riau Province.

"I reported to the President yesterday that the situation and conditions in Riau had declined, so he (President Jokowi) asked us again whether the isolation place had been prepared for centralized isolation. We also reported to the President that we had prepared a centralized isolation area," he said. He explained that the readiness of this centralized isolation place was in accordance with President Jokowi's directives. In addition, his party has prepared an oxygen house in the Roesmin Nurjadin Airbase complex.

Then, the Governor added that President Jokowi also provided assistance in the form of vaccines but had not yet reached Riau Province. He said that currently the assistance from the President of the Republic of Indonesia has arrived in Riau Province, namely medicines and oxygen concentrators.

"Hopefully, with regard to medicine and oxygen, it can help our citizens who are exposed to COVID-19," Syamsuar hoped.

Also present to accompany Syamsuar, Danlanud Roesmin Nurjadin Marsma TNI Andi Kustoro and his staff, Assistant I Setdaprov Riau Jenri Salmon Ginting, Head of Riau Health Office Mimi Yuliani Nazir, Head of Communications and Information Technology Riau Chairul Riski and other officers.
