PSI Wants Anies Interpellation, Deputy Governor Riza Cuek Doesn't Want To Be Cautious About DKI DPRD Affairs

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to the desire of the PSI faction of the DKI DPRD to exercise the right of interpellation to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan regarding the implementation of formula E.

In DKI Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2014 concerning the Regulations of the DKI DPRD, the right of interpellation is proposed to the leadership of the DPRD. The form of the right of interpellation this time was a plenary meeting with the agenda of questioning Anies about the reasons for holding Formula E.

Riza considers that all government institutions, both executive and legislative, have their respective authorities and duties. Moreover, Riza admitted that his party did not interfere in the affairs of the DPRD.

"We are not forbidding or interfering with what parties or factions in the DPRD are doing. Everything is in accordance with the existing laws and regulations," said Riza at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, August 13.

However, if there are still DPRD members who object to the plan to organize Formula E, Riza hopes that it can be discussed properly to find a way out of the existing problems.

"We hope that the problems that exist in DKI Jakarta can be discussed together in deliberation, including the problem of Formula E that we can discuss together," said Riza.

It was previously known that PSI would propose an interpellation because it did not agree with Anies' move to make Formula E one of the priority agendas for 2021-2022. This is stated in the Instruction of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 49 of 2021.

Member of the PSI faction of the DKI DPRD, Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo, said that the reason his party wanted an interpellation right was because the community's economic condition was currently slumped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"PSI will issue the DKI Jakarta DPRD's interpellation right for Formula E activities. Thousands of people are living in hardship due to the pandemic, it's unethical to waste trillions of rupiah for car racing events," said Anggara.

Anggara said, BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) as the organizer of Formula E submitted a regional capital participation (PMD) of IDR 767.4 billion for the implementation of Formula E 2020, but the budget has not been disbursed because the event was canceled.

In the budget discussion meeting later, Anggara said PSI would reject the PMD submission for the Formula E event from PT Jakpro in the 2021 APBD-P and 2022 APBD.

"PSI has asked the DKI Provincial Government to form a team that is serious about taking all legal steps to return the Formula E commitment fee that has been paid in the amount of IDR 560 billion along with the interest," he explained.
