Singapore Temasek Foundation Distributes Medical Aid To Indonesia, Contains 500 Machines And 200 Thousand Masks

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo released the departure of the KRI Teluk Bintuni carrying medical assistance from Changi Naval Base Singapore to Tanjungpriok, Friday, August 13 today. The aid is expected to arrive in Indonesia on Monday, August 16.

Medical assistance for Indonesia is provided by the Temasek Foundation. The contents include 500 units of Yuwell YH-830 Bi-Level PAP machines, 11 Dialysis machines and 200,000 medical surgical masks.

The assistance was given to the Ministry of Health and the Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). The aid delivery was supported by the Indonesian National Army (TNI) by sending KRI Teluk Bintuni to Changi Naval Base, Singapore.

Ambassador Suryo Pratomo stated that handling the COVID-19 pandemic requires close relations and cooperation between two countries, Singapore and Indonesia.

"No country can be declared safe from COVID-19, if there are other countries that are still struggling in the face of this pandemic," the Ambassador said as quoted by Antara.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Singapore Temasek Foundation has been working with and supporting the response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. According to the Ambassador, this is proof of the strong relationship and closeness between Indonesia and Singapore.

The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore is actively collaborating with the Temasek Foundation to distribute various kinds of assistance in handling COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, ahead of the commemoration of the 56th National Day of the Republic of Singapore, the Singapore International Temasek Foundation provided assistance as a sense of togetherness and mutual assistance against the pandemic situation in Indonesia.

The handover of aid was carried out virtually on Tuesday, August 10, between the Chief Executive of the Temasek International Foundation, Benedict Cheong, to the Head of the Ministry of Health's Crisis Center, Eka Jusuf Singka and the Director of BNPB's Logistics and Equipment Network Optimization, Ibnu Asur.

The handover of aid was also witnessed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo and the Director of Southeast Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mirza Nurhidayat.
