JAKARTA - The Tanah Abang Metro Police are still investigating the theft which was caught on CCTV of a clothing store at Tanah Abang Market. The viral video on the Instagram account contains an alleged theft committed by a woman wearing a hijab.

In the video recorded, the suspect took a dozen T-shirts tucked into his clothes.

Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief Kompol Singgih Hermawan said his party had investigated this theft case.

"We are still investigating, we have not caught (the culprit)," said Singgih when confirmed by reporters, Monday, August 9.

The police chief confirmed that the incident occurred at a store in the Tanah Abang Market area, Central Jakarta, on Friday, August 6 yesterday. However, until now the shop owner who was the victim of the theft has not made an official report at the Tanah Abang Metro Police.

"The victim also has not officially reported this. Only got it from a video circulating on social media," added the police chief.

The viral video is the result of a CCTV camera recording belonging to a clothing trader at the Tanah Abang market and uploaded to the @jakarta.terkini Instagram account.

The perpetrator was seen wearing a headscarf, mask, and negligee. After stuffing a dozen clothes into her negligee, the perpetrators left the shop.
