Bansos Extortion Found In Bandung, People Are Asked Not To Be Afraid To Report

JAKARTA - The West Java Sweeping Liar Charges Task Force (Satgas Saber Pungli) appealed to the public not to be afraid to report any allegations of social assistance extortion during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We hope for the community's courage if there is an irregularity or discrepancy, there are many links to social assistance from the government," said Yudi in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Monday, August 9.

He said that currently there were findings of fraudulent rice social assistance in West Bandung Regency (KBB). According to him, similar cases also have the potential to occur in other areas if there is no supervision from the community.

"So far, it is possible that this could happen not only in KBB, but in other regencies as well, but yesterday the complainants were from the Padalarang, Cipatat and Cililin areas," he said. if there is extortion during the funeral process for COVID-19 corpses by unscrupulous bearers at the Public Cemetery (TPU).

"If someone dies from COVID-19, they are asked to pay a fee, so just report it to us, we will follow up and we will attend," he said.

Meanwhile, at KBB, allegations of fraud were found in the distribution of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) related to the quality of basic necessities that were not in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

In addition to the inappropriate quality, according to Yudi, the price is above the highest retail price. He explained that rice, which normally costs Rp. 9,000 per kilogram, becomes Rp. 11,000 per kilogram, and the price of eggs, which normally costs Rp. 22,500 per kilogram, becomes Rp. 29,000 per kilogram.
