COVID-19 Update As Of August 6: New Cases 39,532, Cases Cured 48,832

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 237,556 specimens were examined with the result that there were 39,532 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3,607,863 people and active cases are 507,375," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Friday, August 6.

Today's recovered cases increased by 48,832 cases, bringing the total to 2,996,478 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,635 people and a total of 104,010 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 4,580 cases and a total of 631,730 cases. Followed by East Java which has 4,490 new cases with a total of 331,299 cases. East Nusa Tenggara has 3,598 new cases and a total of 46,276 cases. Then, Central Java has 3,022 new cases and a total of 405,113 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 8,028 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 7,966 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 5,007 recovered cases, and Banten with an increase of 6,899 recovered cases.

No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 27,586,460.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 30.75 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 196,829 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 49,391,058 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 22,891,824 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
