MAKASSAR - North Luwu Regent Indah Putri Indriani proposed that the central government supply free medicine for COVID-19 patients, both asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic, who are self-isolating.
The proposal was put forward by Indah at a virtual coordination meeting for the Handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Vaccination, and Economic Recovery in South Sulawesi Province.
The coordination meeting was attended by Plt. Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, and followed by Regents/Mayors throughout South Sulawesi in their respective regions.
So far, free medical aid packages for COVID-19 patients who are isoman have so far been distributed by TNI officers based on President Joko Widodo's instructions, including the assistance of puskesmas officers and village midwives in the field.
Observing the large number of COVID-19 patients who do Isoman, the Regent of Lutra also proposed free drug assistance to those undergoing isoman.
"We hope that there will also be free medical support for our residents who are undergoing isomanism," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 6.
The importance of free medical assistance for isoman patients, he continued, is to help the recovery process and increase the body's immunity for those who are confirmed positive, especially for the poor.
In addition to the free drug proposal, Indah also requested that the provision of a booster for the injection of the third dose of moderna vaccine for Forkopimda officials who are mobile in handling COVID-19 can be realized.
"What is proposed is important to help those undergoing Isoman, as well as the importance of a third vaccine booster for Forkopimda because of its high mobility, but all of that will be adjusted to conditions in the field," he said.
Responding to the proposal, the Acting Governor welcomed it positively, it's just that it still takes time to implement it in the field, because of the availability of drugs and vaccines so that priority scale is carried out.
