Already A Suspect, Security Guards Persecute Students At GBK Enter Cell

JAKARTA - The security guard who beat Zaelani (26) at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan, was finally named a suspect by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim).

Head of the Central Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Wisnu Wardhana, stated that the perpetrator was named a suspect and had been detained at the Central Jakarta Police Headquarters for his actions.

"Yes, he has been detained, he is automatically a suspect. The perpetrator (admits) according to chronology," said Kompol Wisnu to VOI, Thursday, August 5.

After undergoing the examination process, the police determined one person was the perpetrator of the abuse of a student at GBK Senayan.

"Yes, one person (security guard) has been detained starting today. Other security guards are not (detained), their status is still a witness until now," he explained.

Even though the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan offered mediation, the police continued to make arrests according to applicable procedures.

"The legal process is still ongoing. Please from the other side to make other efforts. We will process it according to the procedure," said Kasat.
