Bobby Nasution Sees Medan Zoo, Hopes There Are Donors Injecting Animal Food Aid

MEDAN - The condition of the Medan Zoo in Medan Tuntungan District is very concerning. Moreover, in the midst of the implementation of PPKM level IV4, the zoo owned by the Medan City Government was not operating.

To ensure the condition of the Medan Zoo, the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, went to the location. There, Bobby Nasution had time to feed animals such as elephants and tigers.

In accordance with visiting the Medan Zoo, President Jokowi's son-in-law hopes that the zoo can develop again. By growing, it is also able to support local revenue.

According to Bobby, Medan zoo has 30 hectares of land. For him, this can be developed not only for zoos but can be turned into a hotel business, a place for food and so on.

"So it's a shame if the Medan Zoo area is around 30 hectares, but only 8 hectares are used," he said, Thursday, August 5.

Bobby Nasution hopes that there will be donors who want to raise animals at Medan Zoo for food needs and management.

"I hope that in the future, not only Corporate Social Responsibility assistance will be received, but it would be better if there are people who want to meet their food needs and animal facilities at Medan Zoo are better," he explained.

This was said by Bobby Nasution because the COVID-19 pandemic brought side effects in tourism places such as the Medan City Zoo.

"We cannot continue to rely on regional funds for that if there are people who want to adopt food needs and so on why not. But still the animals are in the Medan Zoo and cannot be brought home," he said.
