JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asked the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) to develop simple parameters to determine the criteria for receiving social assistance. This needs to be done to make it easier for the regions to determine which residents will be assisted.

"The parameters are arranged in a simple way so that they are easy to understand and become the standard for regions to determine the size of the poor and vulnerable poor who are entitled to receive assistance," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati to reporters quoted on Thursday, August 5.

In addition, the KPK also hopes that the Ministry of Social Affairs will always update the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) every month. This is intended to prevent irregularities or inappropriate distribution of social assistance.

"KPK hopes that the Ministry of Social Affairs will continue to improve the quality of DTKS to completion and maintain the accuracy of its data by updating it regularly every month," said Ipi.

"KPK also pushes forward to optimize the use of DTKS as a data source for all government assistance programs specifically for the poor and the underprivileged," he added.

Furthermore, Ipi said that the KPK had received an explanation from the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini regarding the progress of improving data on social assistance recipients on Tuesday, August 3. In his presentation, the Ministry of Social Affairs has deleted 52.5 million data on social assistance recipients in DTKS.

The data was deleted because it did not match the Population Identification Number (NIK), duplicate data, and could not be corrected for areas that could potentially be misused. So, currently the total DTKS as of May 31 is 140.4 million. Previously, the KPK had recommended to the Ministry of Social Affairs to improve DTKS. Improvements include administrative aspects, namely ensuring the data is in accordance with the NIK and in accordance with the socio-economic conditions of the community so that local governments need to update the data.

The data can be taken from other institutions related to employment status such as ASN, TNI/Polri. Not only that, the KPK also emphasized the need to improve data governance at the Ministry of Social Affairs by integrating three internal data sources from the Ministry of Social Affairs which are managed separately.

Next, the KPK also emphasized the importance of data curation in order to prevent fictitious and duplicate data.

Finally, the KPK also appeals to the public to submit reports or complaints if there are irregularities in the distribution of social assistance through the KPK or JAGA prevention network. The goal is to supervise the provision of assistance
