Social Service: Viral Women Who Live Under The Medan Bridge Are Not Acehnese

BANDA ACEH - The Aceh government through the Social Service stated that the woman circulating in the viral video and living under a bridge in Medan, North Sumatra, is not an Acehnese.

"We have coordinated with the North Sumatra Provincial Government and the Medan City Government regarding the virality of a woman in Medan and the results of the search and coordination with the District Social Welfare Team (TKSK) in Medan, who is not an Acehnese," said Head of the Aceh Social Service Yusrizal in Banda Aceh was quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 4.

He explained that his party had directly traced the status of the woman who had gone viral because she lived under a bridge through the North Sumatra Social Service and the Medan Social Service Office.

Yusrizal said based on the search of the Medan City TKSK Team, the woman was not an Acehnese and the data provided as Acehnese were different individuals, namely only single men who had lived in Medan since 2006 who came from Gampong Pulo Panyang, Peusangan Selatan District, Bireuen.

While regarding the woman who went viral, the Medan City TKSK did not submit data as an Acehnese and currently the Aceh Government is still waiting for further information from the TKSK Team of the Medan City Social Service.

There is also the identity of the man from Bireuen named Fuad. The single man is from Pulo Panyang Village, Peusangan Selatan District, Bireuen Regency.

Fuad has lived in the city of Medan since 2006 and has lived under the bridge, since 2009, his daily activities are collecting bottles and used goods.

“The Medan City Government through the Medan City Social Service will facilitate Fuad's return to his hometown, in Bireuen. Currently, the Aceh Social Service Office and the Bireuen Social Service Office continue to coordinate with the North Sumatra Social Affairs Office and the Medan City Government Social Service Office," he said.

Kadinsos Aceh also added that the process of delivering Fuad to his residence in Pulo Panyang Bireuen District, will be facilitated by the TKSK Team of the Aceh Social Service and the Bireuen Social Service.

"The Aceh government will collect data and information regarding Fuad's brother for administrative needs and become a priority in providing productive economic venture capital," said the Head of the Aceh Social Affairs Office.
