JAKARTA - The government of the Sula Islands Regency, North Maluku will place COVID-19 Task Force personnel at various crowded points to anticipate crowds, following the determination of the district to be in the COVID-19 red zone.

"Kepsul's status is in the red zone, of course, the COVID-19 Task Force will be maximized at points where people gather for us to take precautions", said Deputy Regent of the Sula Islands, H Saleh Marasabeesy when contacted from Ternate, reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 4.

In addition, for economic centers such as markets, all personnel will be maximized to carry out surveillance and handling of COVID-19, so that people who are going to the market must wear masks.

The Deputy Regent admitted that the conditions were getting worse day by day, it was known together that Sula was still in the orange zone but now it has entered the red zone. In addition, the COVID-19 protocol will continue and the district government will reduce the working hours of civil servants and honorary employees to enter the office using a shift or rotating system so that some employees are at home waiting for directions from each OPD (Regional Apparatus Organization) leader in the local government scope.

Saleh added that the red zone will be maximized so that Sula is no longer included in the dangerous zone.

"Therefore, we appeal to all the people of Sula, to share common awareness to prevent COVID-19, besides that soon we will issue a circular to the public so that there are no crowds," he said.

However, his party has not yet imposed sanctions on people who make crowds, but after the circular is implemented, socialization will only be given to the local community.

Meanwhile, based on the daily COVID-19 report from the Malut Health Service for the Sula Islands Regency, 304 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19, 307 people recovered, 19 people died, 38 active cases of COVID-19 were recorded, 4 people were isolated at RSU. and self-isolation as many as 34 people.

Previously, the North Maluku Regional Police would place their personnel in the red zone area for the Implementation of Micro-Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) and intensively carry out large-scale patrols following the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs.

Head of North Maluku Police Operational Bureau, Police Commissioner Juwari confirmed, for the red zone area itself, there are still red zones at the micro PPKM level at the Village scale such as the City of Ternate, namely Kalumata, Kalumpang, and Siko Villages, Meanwhile, the orange zone is still 43 Villages and Yellow is about 12 Villages from 78 Villages. The city of Ternate will continue to be controlled, especially in the discipline of implementing health protocols.

He said that this was an anticipation of the spread of COVID-19 in North Maluku in general and in Ternate in this case backing up the Ternate Police.

"From the three red zones, it must continue to be controlled regarding the implementation of health protocols in addition to the distribution of social assistance and masks", he said.
