3 Perpetrators Of Disposal Of Septic Tank Waste Into Mampang Waterways

JAKARTA - Officers from the Environmental Service of the South Jakarta Administration have arrested three perpetrators of dumping septic tank waste in the Mampang area's waterways.

Head of the South Jakarta Environmental Agency, Mohamad Amin, explained that initially the officers received complaints from the public regarding the waste disposal activities.

"This perpetrator has often disposed of waste in the canal in Mampang. Because of the smell and the residents also saw it, they reported it to us. What follow-up, we do hand arrests or OTT when they are disposing of waste earlier, "said Amin, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 3rd.

Amin said, according to officers in the field, the perpetrators, consisting of a driver and two assistants, had often disposed of waste at the site.

Amin said that further investigations had been submitted to the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency.

"We reported it to the office and now the perpetrators are in the service," said Amin.

Amin added that this is not the first time this activity has been carried out by the perpetrators. They are free to park their trucks, then put the drain hose into the water channel. As a result, residents smelled the unpleasant smell from the septic tank waste suction.

"If you hear the residents' complaints, it's not the only time they've heard it. However, this is the first time we have found a case like this in South Jakarta. Hopefully there will be no similar cases and the perpetrators will be deterred from repeating their actions," he said.
