JAKARTA - The government has extended the implementation of level-based Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in the Java-Bali region until August 9. This extension was carried out to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan explained that there are 12 regencies/cities in 7 provinces in Java-Bali that are included in PPKM Level 3 and one district is included in Level 2. While the rest must enter the Level 4 category.

"In the implementation of PPKM Level 4 and 3 which will be carried out starting on August 3, there are 12 regencies/cities that enter level 3 and one regency enters level 2. However, there are several regencies/cities that eventually have to return to level 4," said Luhut in an online press conference, Monday, August 2.

The details of districts/cities in seven provinces in Java and Bali that are included in PPKM levels 2,3 and 4 are listed in the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 27 of 2021 concerning PPKM Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 COVID-19 in the Java Region. and Bali. This instruction was signed by the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian on Monday, August 2.

"This Material Instruction comes into force on August 3 to August 9, 2021," the Minister of Home Affairs was quoted as saying.

One area declared to be included in PPKM Level 2 is Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java. While the rest fall into PPKM Level 4 and 3.
