Akidi Tio's Son Is Still Intensively Examined At The South Sumatra Regional Police Regarding Rp2 Trillion Aid

PALEMBANG - The South Sumatra Police team is still intensively examining two families of the late Akidi Tio regarding the certainty of the grant funds that they will hand over to the community for handling COVID-19.

Reported by Antara, the two people examined were Heryanti, the daughter of the late Akidi Tio and Dr. Hardi Darmawan, the personal doctor of the deceased's family.

The two of them were escorted by members of the General Criminal Investigation Department from the Palembang Branch of Bank Mandiri at around 13.00 WIB, Monday, August 2 using a black minibus.

After seven hours of inspection at around 20.20 WIB, Dr. Hari Darmawan left the South Sumatra Police Headquarters first using a black minibus. Meanwhile, Heryanti is still being investigated by the Investigation Team for General Crimes Sub-Directorate II.

The South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Eko Indra Heri asked that all of them be handed over to the police because the General Criminal Investigation investigator is still asking for their information.

"Just think positively, regarding the process later, the team is currently working," he said.

He emphasized that in this case he was only trying to try to channel the kindness of a resident who wanted to help overcome COVID-19 to the people of South Sumatra.

"I didn't expect anything. I just thought positive (until now)," he said.

The Regional Police Chief emphasized that the presence or absence of these funds did not at all dampen the efforts of the South Sumatra Police together with the South Sumatra Provincial Government and other stakeholders in tackling COVID-19, because overcoming COVID-19 is currently one of the priorities that must be resolved.

"I have good intentions, there are people who want to donate to South Sumatra, I channel them through me, please note that even if there are funds, it's not for me, it's just a deposit for the community," he said. Tio was examined for questioning regarding the certainty of the Rp2 trillion money because until now the money had not been available even though the disbursement was due.

"The money should have been there today but when we waited until 14.00 WIB the money was not in their Bank Mandiri Current Account, therefore we called them for clarification," he said.

According to him, the status of the two people has yet to be confirmed because until now the General Criminal Investigation team is still investigating the information they provided.

"We are still investigating the funds, both their whereabouts and where they came from, whether they came from abroad or where we don't know yet," he said.

There is also the motive for providing this fantastic fund purely as a personal wish from the family of the late Akidi Tio to help and relieve the people of South Sumatra who have been affected by COVID-19.

"So far the motive is good personally to help, hopefully in the near future there will be a solution," he said.
