JAKARTA - The number of residents of Kudus Regency, Central Java, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic who proposed to receive 10 kilograms of rice assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs, has only realized 60 percent of the total 37,111 beneficiary families (KPM) who submitted to receive assistance.

"We hope that the rest can be realized soon so that a total of 37,111 KPM submitted can receive the rice aid," said Kudus Regent Hartopo on the sidelines of handing over rice aid to KPM at the Kudus City District Office, reported by Antara, Monday, August 2.

He hopes that the distribution of the next stage will be right on target, by ascertaining whether the names listed are really affected or have risen to the status of capable people or have died.

As long as the aid has not been received, he said, there needs to be a check in the field, when the recipient is not the rightful one, it can be transferred to someone else who really needs it more.

Head of the Department of Social Affairs, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning Mundir added that the recipients of the 10 kg rice aid were families receiving the Cash Social Assistance (BST) and the Family Hope Program (PKH).

Regarding the fact that all the proposed assistance had not been received, he said, it was possible because of the change in the Minister of Social Affairs, which affected the previously submitted data, so that only 60 percent of the assistance received was received.

"The latest data that we have submitted has not been released. Meanwhile, the recipients of the current aid are still old," he said.

Of the 37,111 KPM proposed to receive assistance, including 21,428 KPM from PKH and 15,583 KPM from BST.

He admitted that his party only received the data because it was submitted from the village, then forwarded to the Ministry of Social Affairs because it is only a facilitator so it cannot change the data for submissions or recipients.

Meanwhile, monthly data improvements were also carried out by the village government to avoid overlapping data.
