COVID-19 Update As Of August 1st: 39,446 Recovered Cases, 30,738 New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today, August 1 in Indonesia. The total number of cases stands at 3,440,396 since the first cases were announced on March 2.

Meanwhile, new cases per day reached 30,738 people, a decrease from 31 July yesterday as many as 37,284 people. The number of recovered cases increased by 39,446 people, with a total of 2,809,538 people recovered. Meanwhile, positive confirmed cases who died decreased to 1,604, a total of 95,723 people.

In data released by the Ministry of Health, Central Java province still occupies the highest position with the most cases, namely 4,234 people, the total cumulative cases reached 386,121 people, followed by East Java with 3,671 people, with a cumulative total of 312,103 people.

"Meanwhile, new cases in the third position are also still occupied by West Java with an increase of 2,769 cases with a total of 611,796 cases. Then in the fourth position, there is DKI Jakarta 2,701 and the cumulative cases reached 817,354. The fifth position is still perched in East Kalimantan with 1,716 and a total of 119,223 cases, "said the Ministry of Health data quoted by VOI, Sunday, August 1.

Regions that have few cases are also still occupied by North Maluku with 22 and Maluku with 33 cases. Furthermore, the province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Banten with an additional 8,044 recovered cases. Likewise with East Java with an increase of 5,988 cases, and followed again by DKI Jakarta 4,596, West Java 3,441, East Kalimantan 1,727, and Riau Islands 1,380.

"Then, the highest death cases were in Central Java with 345 people. Followed by East Java 330 people, West Java 189 people, and East Kalimantan 78 people," explained the Ministry of Health data.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined per day is 178,375. Meanwhile, cumulatively it reached 26,458,578. With details, 20,284,115 were examined by RT-PCR, 213,122 by the TMC method, and 6,174,463 people were tested for antigen.

"The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is recorded at 280,528 people. Then, the weekly positivity rate for people from July 25 to 31 is 25.63 percent. While the daily positivity rate is 27, 28 percent," according to data from the Ministry of Health.

Currently, the number of people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination has increased by 251,654 and the total has reached 47,478,168, and the second dose of vaccination has been 138,256, for a cumulative total of 20,673,079. Meanwhile, the vaccination target reached 208,265,720 people.
