Task Force Disbands Marriage Celebrations In Medan, Tents Lowered, Table Cloths Folded

MEDAN - The COVID-19 task force (Satgas) Medan Denai Subdistrict, together with the Medan Area Police, broke up the wedding ceremony on Jalan Denai, Gang Mulajadi, Medan City.

The dissolution of the wedding ceremony by the COVID-19 Task Force went viral on social media. In the video narration distributed by the @andrehkm_ account, it is written that the incident occurred at around 11.13 western Indonesia time.

In the video, a number of officers can be seen lowering their tents and folding table cloths.

"Dismantling the party on Denai street Mulajadi alley. PPKM Level IV," said a man who recorded the video.

However, it is not explained in the video who is the host of the celebration.

When confirmed by VOI, the sub-district head of Medan Denai, Ali Sipahutar, confirmed the disbandment.

"That's right, today (it was dissolved)," said Ali, Sunday, August 1.

Ali emphasized that during the Medan PPKM level IV, wedding celebrations or activities that caused crowds were not allowed.

"Now it's not allowed, it's abolished," he said.

In the disbandment, Ali said there was no rejection from the host. The dissolution, he said, went smoothly.

Meanwhile, regarding the sanctions, the Medan Area Police Chief, Police Commissioner Faidir Chaniago, has not been able to explain in detail. He also did not explain in detail the identity of the host of the wedding celebration.

"Later we will wait for the level of error, because the party is not a person there, an outsider. We will ask later, we will temporarily disband it," explained Faidir.
