Cyclist Enters Antasari Non-Toll Flyover, Warganet: Halal Hit

JAKARTA - A short video including a description of a passing cyclist on Saturday, July 31, at around 06.42 WIB has gone viral on social media. A number of cyclists were seen trying to enter the Antasari Non-Toll Flyover (JLNT), North Cipete, South Jakarta.

"A number of cyclists passed JLNT Antasari, South Jakarta this morning, Saturday 31/7/2021, at around 06.42 WIB," the video said on the @jakarta.terkini account. In the video circulating, a group of people can be seen wearing road bike jerseys and helmets. They made two rows and continued to pedal their bicycles in the left lane.

There are two rules that are violated by the off road cyclists. First, they violate the traffic rules where bicycles are not allowed to pass. The group of racing bicycles also drove on the road when South Jakarta was still implementing PPKM Level 4.

Supposedly, with the implementation of PPKM level 4, cyclists who do not enter the crucial sector are not allowed to slide on the highway. The government advises to stay at home if there is no urgent need.

Responding to this, the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, considered the action to be very dangerous. "The cyclists who enter the Antasari non-toll road are not allowed (because) it is very dangerous," he said in a virtual interview, Saturday, July 31.

Riza asked cyclists to understand what paths bicycles can and cannot take. Moreover, he said, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has provided a safe route for cyclists.

"We ask cyclists to be careful and understand which roads are allowed (and) which are not, with the aim of ensuring the safety of cyclists themselves and other road users," he said.

Furthermore, Riza said that his party would ask the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) and Polda Metro Jaya to ensure that this action would not happen again. Cyclists are also asked to obey the rules.

"We ask everyone to respect, obey and obey the existing rules," he said.
