Confession Of Victims Of DKI Satpol PP Recruitment Fraud: Work For 2 Months, Participate In PPKM's Justice Operations

JAKARTA - The police said that the suspect in a fraud case involving the recruitment of members of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP managed to deceive nine people. Victims were employed in judicial operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It has been almost two months since the victim was recruited since July 15, including the reporter and then given the task of carrying out judicial operations for PPKM," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Yusri Yunus, to reporters on Thursday, July 29.

In addition, the suspect with the initials YF also asked the victims to carry out operations in the East Flood Canal (BKT) area. The goal is to convince the victims that they actually work as Satpol PP.

But to avoid revealing his fraudulent actions, continued Yusri, the suspect always assigns tasks in remote locations. The goal is to prevent the victim from meeting the real Satpol PP.

"During his operation for two months he wore the Satpol PP uniform, but only in their group. There was even one initial B (victim) who was used as a danton there, to lead eight of his other friends to carry out judicial operations, reprimand people who did not wear masks. In accordance with the teachings of this suspect," said Yusri.

It's just that, after two months of fraudulent action began to be suspected. The victims were surprised because they were never paid.

So, they confirmed to their friends who immediately asked the Head of the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) Arifin.

"The victim reported that he asked his friend for help by contacting the Satpol PP directly to the Head of Satpol PP, Mr. Arifin, there were several who reported it after seeing the appointment letter and work contract and it was believed by Kasatpol PP that it was fake," said Yusri.

Until finally, the suspect was arrested by the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP. The perpetrators were then handed over to the Polda Metro Jaya for legal processing.

"On June 26, it was reported to the Polda Metro Jaya and this is where we managed to secure it," said Yusri.

In this case, the police only named YF as a suspect. Meanwhile, BA, who is the aunt of the suspect, is a witness.

Suspect YF was charged with Article 372 of the Criminal Code and Article 378 of the Criminal Code. He faces up to four years in prison.
